Back in May 2013, The Rotary Club of Londonderry, in association with INCORE, the International Peace and Reconciliation school of Ulster Univerity, hosted an International Peace Conference, attended by then RI President Sukuji Tanaka. Surplus funds from the conference were made available to INCORE to award Rotary Scholarships to deserving students studying International Peace and Reconciliation. This year’s scholarship has been awarded to Natalia Amaya Medina, from Columbia.
Natalia has joined at INCORE by two other Rotary Scholars: Kristin Lanier, from Texas, USA is studying with support from The Rotary Foundation Global Grants while Shaley Moore, from Missouri has received an award from the Rotary District 6110 Kirchner Scholarship. All three ladies are studying for a Master’s degree in International Peace and reconciliation. Their host counsellors at Londonderry Club are Werner Scheel and John MacCrossan.
